Sixth of Bodrum Baroque Music Festival which is organized annually by Karia Culture and Art Association (KARSANAT) is taking place in the Bodrum Antique Theatre on 4-5-6.September.2015, with art director Gülderen Erdoğmuş and supports of Bodrum Municipality, Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology, THY and BODTO.
Nineteen Turkish and international guest artists will take place in the three days event.
A PLEASENT SOUND
On the opening concert, 4th.September Karia Turkish Music Ensemble and the soloist Özge Eyüpoğlu offers the audience an unusual repertoire. The concert repertoire is including the works of our famous composers from 1600 to 1750, corresponding the same baroque period and selected by Prof. Dr. Nevzat Atlığ (State Artist), one of the founding members of KARSANAT. Other members of the Ensemble: Kanun-Safa Hastaoğlu, Kemençe-Mehmet Yalgin, Ney- Kâşif Demiröz, Ud-Tunca Yuksel, Cello-Serdar Gökmen, Percussion-Selcuk Yazıcı.
VENETIAN CARNIVAL
Karia Baroque Soloists will present a Venetian Carnival this year. Venetian Carnival is one of the most important events of the baroque period that the European aristocracy meets public at the majestic outdoor activities as well as use of visual effects, with sets and costumes. The most famaous sopranos and castrato singers were on stage, presenting early works of famous composers like Haendel, Vivaldi etc.
This year a new ensemble member, mezzosoprano Esen Demirci Deveci who is also the new president of KARSANAT will take part on the concert. Ms. Deveci is the winner of many awards in national and international singing competitions. After being awarded with the first prize in 2009 Siemens Opera Competition, she was invited to perform in Germany. Now married and living in Bodrum.
Kaan Buldular and Nuri Harun Ateş, the other members of ensemble, who are awarded artists from different opera competitions with extraordinary countertenor voices. Another member who joined to the ensemle this year, Soprano Esra Özbir is a concert soloist. The ensemble will be accompanied by clavichord artist and one of the conductors of Istanbul State Opera, Paolo Villa and baroque cello artist, Jörg Zwicker.
CASTLE CONCERTS
Gülderen Erdoğmuş the soloist and director of the ensemble: “In 2012 we performed concerts in various castles in Germany, by the invitation of PCA-European Union. Our performances were found very successful and we got very good critics in the German press. This year we are invited again under the same project, and we are preparing for four concerts in four different castle. One of the concerts is a Benefit Concert which is performed for African children. We are presenting three other concerts, OPERA Gala concert, Musical Concert and the Venetian Carnival which is taking place on our Baroque Festival in Bodrum Ancient Theatre. As the artists who are living and working in Bodrum, we are proud of representing our country.
EXTRAORDINARY CHORDS
On the closing concert of the Baroque Fest, “Extraordinary Chords” will meet with the audience in Bodrum. The ensemble is sponsored by Istanbul Austrian Cultural Office, the Austrian Baroque Academy and Turkish Airlines.
The concert’s main theme is “Faustina Bordoni” who was an extraordinary diva of baroque period. Repertoire is including the arias that Bordoni sang and the works dedicated to her by famous composers like J.A. Hasse, G.F.Haendel and also Benedetto Marcello’s cantatas and solo works.
ABA awardwinner, soprano Anna Magdalena Auzinger is accompanied by famous clavichord artist Elke Eckerstorf, baroque cellist Jörg Zwicker and baroque wind instruments by Annemarie Podesser.
